ORDER

The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondent to transfer the patta in the name of the petitioner from the name of his father, Chinnasamy, in respect of the property situated in Survey No. 43B/15, Kaavalkaara Street, Valadi Village, Lalgudi Taluk, Thiruchirappalli District, within a time stipulated by this Court. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.D.Baskar, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.M.Gangatharan, learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent. By consent of both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.According to the petitioner, the Manaivari Thoraya Patta for the subject property was issued in the name of the petitioner's father, Chinnasamy. The petitioner's father executed a settlement deed dated 10.05.2023, settling the subject property in favour of the petitioner. Based on the said document, the petitioner submitted an application before the respondents on 28.05.2025, seeking mutation of the revenue

records in his favour. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the application of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

5.From the documents filed in the typed set of papers, it is clear that the Thoraya patta was issued in the names of petitioner's father, Chinnasamy and one Maruthappan. However, it is not clear how the petitioner's father executed a settlement deed in respect of the entire property in favour of the petitioner.

6.In view of the same, this Court is not inclined to issue any positive direction to the respondents to transfer the patta in the name of the petitioner. However, the respondent is directed to consider the application submitted by the petitioner dated 28.05.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of the twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after issuing notice to the

petitioner, other legal heirs of Chinnasamy, if any, co-pattadar, Maruthappan/his legal heirs. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
