seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 3rd respondent not to constitute Town Vending Committee under Section 22(1) of Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 in Palani Municipality and conduct of election schedule to be conducted on 30.12.2016 for electing 40% members representing street vendors to that proposed Town Vending Committee under Section 22(2)(d) of Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 without issuance of proper notice and without conducting of proper survey of petitioner and other street vendors, mobile vendors and stationary vendors doing vending in Sannathi Road at the bottom of Palani Temple and in and around of Palani Municipality on the basis of the representation sent by the petitioner dated 14.12.2016. The relief sought for in this writ petition is not to conduct election to constitute a Town Vending Committee. 2/4

2. The learned counsel appearing for the third respondent submits that the election has already been conducted as scheduled and therefore, the writ petition becomes infructuous.

3. Since the election has already been conducted, this writ petition is closed. However, a direction is issued to the third respondent/the Commissioner of Palani Municipality to verify the credentials of the persons who are claiming to be the street vendors and enumerate all the persons. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
