PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the 2nd respondents to provide adequate Police Protection to the petitioner's life and limb by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.06.2023. For Petitioner :Mr.A.S.Vaigunth For Respondent :Mr.M.Sakthi Kumar for R1 & R2 Government Advocate (Crl. Side) :Mr.S.Krishnan for R3 to R6 O RDER This Criminal Original Petition is filed to direct the 2nd respondents to provide adequate Police Protection to the petitioner's life and limb by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 08.06.2023.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner and the third respondent herein got married. Some trouble arose between them due to the habit of consuming alcohol by the third respondent. The in-laws of the petitioner also supported their son. On 07.11.2022, the private respondents have attacked the petitioner and her parents, demanding additional dowry of 25 sovereigns of 2/5

jewels and a car. They were admitted in Government Hospital. Thereafter, without informing the petitioner, the third respondent went to Singapore. Since, the petitioner was not taken back to her matrimonial home, she has given a representation on 15.03.2023 seeking police protection from her in-laws. Seeking consideration of her representation, this petition came to be filed.

3. The respondent Nos.3 to 6 have also entered appearance through Advocate.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for respondents 1 and 2 submitted that the matter was referred to the Mediation centre. The private respondents have appeared. Settlement was reached between the parties and respondents 3 to 6, have given statement that they will not make any trouble to the petitioner. On that basis, a report was prepared and sent to this Court.

5. In view of the developments, nothing survives for adjudication in this case. Ofcourse, respondents 4 to 6 must comply the undertaking. Let the terms of the settlement be form part of the order.
