Heard the learned counsels on either side.

2. The prayer sought in the Writ Petition is for the issuance of a Mandamus to grant an electricity connection to the temple, namely Sri Vempadi Sudalaimadasamy Kovil, situated at 698/18, Idayankulam Village, Nanguneri Taluk, Tirunelveli District. The petitioner claims to be the Dharmakartha of the temple, whereas the third respondent has the right to maintain the temple.

It has now been brought to the notice of this Court that both the petitioner and the third respondent have filed independent applications for the grant of an electricity connection, but the same were cancelled due to the lapse of time. In such circumstances, if the interested parties wish to obtain a new connection, they will have to submit a fresh 2/4

application in accordance with the law. Upon submission of such an application, along with the necessary supporting documents, the respondent concerned is at liberty to consider the application, after issuing notice to the relevant parties concerned.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
