Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to complete his entire proceedings in Na.Ka.C4/4430/2015 and consequently to issue Nationality Certificate to the petitioner as she is having Indian Citizenship within the time limit that may be stipulated by this Court so as to enable the petitioner to get back her passport, bearing No.F 7596241 dated 01.04.2006.

Heard Mr.M.S.Jeyakarthik, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.J.K.Jayaselan, learned Government Advocate for the respondents 1, 3 and 5 and Mr.P.Paulpandi, learned Counsel for the 4th respondent.
2. This Writ Petition is filed praying for a Mandamus, directing the first respondent to issue Nationality Certificate to the petitioner, so as to enable the petitioner to get back her passport. 2/5

When the matter came up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents 1 to 3 and 5, had produced a communication dated 14.03.2017 addressed to the petitioner, wherein the first respondent had intimated to the petitioner that her request to issue nationality certificate could only be processed under the provisions of Indian Citizenship Act, 1955 and had also informed the petitioner about the procedure in which such application has to be filed.
4. In view of such communication addressed to the petitioner as early as in the year 2017, no further adjudication required to be made in this Writ Petition. However, the petitioner is at liberty to take out necessary application as indicated in the aforementioned communication.
5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 06.11.2024 NCC:yes/no Index:yes/no Internet:yes/no Nsr 3/5
