Mayandi from the Central Prison, Madurai to any one private hospital for providing better medical treatment by considering the petitioner's representation dated 19.12.2021 within the time limit stipulated by this Court. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner's son is in custody. The petitioner's son has some serious ortho disease in his left leg. Surgery has been recommended. The petitioner therefore wants this Court to direct the respondents to shift her son to a private hospital.

3. This request is strongly opposed by the learned Government Advocate. The learned Government Advocate would point out that the petitioner's son is involved in as many as 13 criminal cases. Two of them are murder cases.

4. Considering the overall facts and circumstances and the statement made by the Dean, Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai and https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.20633 of 2021 Dr.Sivakumar, Orthopaedic Doctor, Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai, I am of the view that it is not necessary to accept the request of the petitioner. The petitioner's son is directed to be shifted to the Convict Ward, Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai so that he can get further treatment in the Government Rajaji Hospital, Madurai itself.

5. This criminal original petition is disposed of.
