O R D E R

The present writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to disburse the family pension along with arrears and other monetary benefits to the petitioner within the time period stipulated by this Court.

2. The writ petitioner is the wife of one Mr.Ramasamy, who died after attaining superannuation, working as a Cashier in Indian Bank. When the writ petitioner had approached the Bank authorities for disbursal of the family pension, there was no response from them. Hence, she has sent representations on 15.05.2023 and on 13.06.2023 to the first respondent. Even thereafter, there was no response from the Bank official. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to direct the respondents to disburse the family pension along with arrears and other monetary benefits.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. According to the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, the name of the some other lady is mentioned as nominee in the Service Register of deceased Ramasamy and hence, the authorities were doubtful about disbursal of the family pension.

5. However, the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner on instructions, submits that the said lady has also passed away she will also place all the records before the Bank authorities.

In view of the above said facts, the writ petitioner is directed to approach the Bank Officials with all the records and after being satisfied with the records, the respondents are directed to consider the same and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of explanation from the writ petitioner. 3/5

7. With the above said observation, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
