ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/Accused, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 05.01.2024 for the offences punishable under Sections 8(c) r/w. 20(b)(ii)(C) and 29(1) of NDPS Act, in crime No.582 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 2.Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the material records of 1/3

the case.

3.Considering the nature of allegation in this case that the quantity of contraband seized is of commercial quantity and that the allegation against the petitioner is that he was also involved in further trade and that there are materials in the form of CDR particulars as against the petitioner which is also annexed along with the final report, I am not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. 4.Since the case is now pending in CC.No.170 of 2024 and that there are totally 25 witnesses in this case and because the prayer of the petitioner for enlargement on bail is also refused, the prosecution is requested to take expeditious steps to complete the trial. The trial Court shall endeavour to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible, in any event, not later than four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
