Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to conduct peace committee meeting and for celebrating temple festival in Sri Adaikalam Katha Iyanar Temple and Sri Kaliyamman Temple at Nanamadi Village, Akkavayal Post, Ilayankudi Taluk, Sivagangai District. Festival which is to be held on 05.09.2025 and 06.09.2025 by dispose of his representation dated 14.07.2025, 28.07.2025 and 12.08.2025.

ORDER

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking a direction to the official respondents to conduct a peace committee meeting with regard to the temple festival. 2/6

2.The prayer sought for in this writ petition cannot be granted. There is no statutory mandate enabling the Official respondents to conduct peace committee meeting. If any resolution is passed, the same is also not having any statutory force. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain this petition.

3.At this juncture, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is not claiming any title over the temple. However, he must be permitted to worship the deity.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the private respondent submits that the private respondent has agreed for the same.

5.In view of the above, this writ petition is closed with a direction to the respondent Police to ensure that the petitioner is permitted to worship the deity. No costs. 25.08.2025 NCC : Yes / No Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No gns 4/6
