For Petitioner : Mr.T.Leninkumar For R1 to R3 : Mr.B.Thanga Aravindh Government Advocate (Crl.side) For R4 : Mr.R.Kannan O RDER This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondent Police to grant permission to the petitioner to conduct Aavani festival in Arulmighu Sri Kadarabommu, Sri Pappammal and Sri Kannakkan Temple, situated at Viralipatti Village, Natham Taluk, Dindigul District on 16.09.2023 and 17.09.2023 and to provide necessary police protection, basing on the representation of the petitioner, dated 11.09.2023.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.R.Kannan, Advocate, representing the fourth respondent submitted that, yesterday, a Peace Committee Meeting was conducted by the Tahsildar and in the said Meeting, consensus could not be arrived at, thereby, sought for not considering the representation of the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) on the other hand submits that in the Peace Committee Meeting conducted by the Tahsildar yesterday, all the parties including the petitioner was present and agreed for conducting the festival on the day which will be fixed by both the parties.

4. Considering the submissions made by both the parties and on perusal of documents including the proceedings of the Tahsildar, Dindigul East, dated 14.09.2023, this writ petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to provide permission to conduct the festival on the date which is being fixed by the petitioner and all the parties as agreed in the Peace Committee Meeting. No costs.
