..Respondents PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the third respondent to issue Non-Traceable Certificate in Doc No.797/2017, based upon the representation of the petitioner, dated 17.07.2023 and in light of the circular of the first respondent in Rc.No.2029209 / General.1(1)/2022. O RDER This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondents to issue non traceable certificate to the petitioner.

It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has lost original registered settlement document bearing document No.797 of 2017 on the file of the the Sub Registrar, Othakadai. The petitioner, in order to obtain certified copy of the settlement document, has requested the respondent police to issue non-traceable certificate, so that the petitioner will get a certified copy of the settlement document, however, the respondent police stated to have not complied with the said request.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that the representation of the petitioner has been numbered as Current Paper. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) further submits that as per the circular issued by the office of the Director General of Police/Head of Police Force, Chennai-4, dated 01.04.2022, who ever files an application for issuance of 2/4

certificate of non traceable of any document or otherwise, the petitioner requires to follow certain requirements as narrated in the said circular memorandum.

4. The petitioner is directed to file an application by following the conditions stipulated in the circular dated 01.04.2022. On making of such application, the respondent police are directed to dispose of the same as quickly as possible not later than two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and furnish the certificate as required.
