ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed seeking to quash the order passed by the third respondent wherein the request of the petitioner to have free agri service connection under Tatkal scheme has been rejected. 2.According to the learned counsel for the writ petitioner, the petitioner has already availed a paid service connection under Tariff IIIA1. When the said service connection is existing, she had made an application to the respondents on 20.07.2018 seeking free service connection under Tatkal scheme. The said request has been rejected under the impugned order on the ground that the petitioner is already having service connection for the said property.

3.The learned counsel had further stated that having IIIA1 service connection would not be a legal impediment for applying under Tatkal scheme for free agri connection.

2/4

4.The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the electricity board submits that at the relevant point of time, Tatkal scheme was not in force. Therefore, the request of the petitioner was rejected. 5.In view of the above said facts, it is clear that having a paid service connection under IIIA1, will not be a legal impediment for the writ petitioner either to apply for a free service connection or under Tatkal scheme. In case, if the petitioner makes any request, the same shall be decided on merits based on seniority on the application dated 20.07.2018. 6.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. 04.02.2026 Internet : Yes/No Index : Yes/No NCC : Yes/No msa To 1.The District Collector Collector Office Madurai 2.The Section Officer V.R.Section Madurai Bench of Madras High Court Madurai 3/4
