PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to disburse the balance amount of pension arrears of 1/5

Rs.65,136/- and the 6% interest for the amount for the delay payment of pension difference amount of 2 1⁄2 years are Rs.9770/- and along with 6 % interest for commutation for 19 months of Rs.13,963/- in total amount of Rs.88,869/- and also in the difference amount of terminal benefits viz., leave Salary, Commutation etc., For Petitioner : Mr.K.Gokul For Respondents : Mr.S.C.Herold Singh Standing Counsel

The petitioner claiming arrears of pension and commutation amount has submitted a representation before the respondents and since the same has not been disbursed to him, he has approached this Court in the year 2019.

2.Today(30.01.2025), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent Corporation submits that this petitioner has retired from service on 29.02.2008 and the basic pay of this petitioner as on that 2/5

date was Rs.10,035/-. The eligible pension benefits for the petitioner was calculated with effect from 01.09.1986, by taking into account the last drawn salary of this petitioner Rs.10,035/-. He further submits that a sum of Rs.1,46,984/- was also settled to this petitioner and the pension amount of Rs.7,674/- is paid every month as pension to the petitioner. A copy of the proceedings dated 25.10.2019 is also placed before this Court.

3.Recording the submissions made by the learned Standing Counsel for the Transport Corporation and the proceedings, dated 25.10.2019, this writ petition is closed. No costs. 30.01.2025 NCC:Yes/No Index:Yes vrn 3/5
