Respondents in both petitions COMMON PRAYER : Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the first respondent the Secretary to Government, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Chennai to direct the District Collector,

Virudhunagar specifically to send revised pension proposals in respect of the petitioners counting the entire services put in by them as Village Assistants i.e., from 01.06.1995 to 26.07.2016 and 01.06.1995 to 31.10.2019, respectively and the entire services put in by them as Office Assistants and Village Administrative Officers i.e., from 27.07.2016 to 31.03.2023 and 01.11.2019 to 28.02.2023, respectively within a specified time frame as per Village Assistant Pension Rules and Tamil Nadu Pension Rules that may be fixed by this Court.

For Petitioner : Mr.S.Visvalingam For Respondents : Mr.K.Balasubramani Special Government Pleader COMMON ORDER The instant writ petitions are filed seeking a direction to the respondents to send revised pension proposals in respect of the petitioners by counting the entire services put in by them as Village Assistants, Office Assistants and Village Administrative Officers 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner in both petitions submits that the representations dated 18.07.2025 filed by the petitioners seeking to

calculate the period, in which they were working as Village Assistants for the purpose of pensionary benefits, is still pending without any consideration and the same shall be directed to be disposed. 3.Considering the limited scope of the relief sought for by the petitioners, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to dispose of the petitioners's representation dated 18.07.2025 on its own merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity to the petitioners, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is also made clear that this Court has not expressed any of its views with regard to the merits of the matters and that it is open to the respondents to consider the same on its own merits.

4. With the above directions, the Writ Petitions stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
