ORDER

The petitioner seeks for quashing the impugned F.I.R. in Crime No.223 of 2025 on the file of the first respondent police for the offences under Sections 296(b),118(1) and 351(3) BNS.

2. The allegation against the petitioner is that he abused the defacto complainant in filthy language and had attacked her and thus, he committed the aforesaid offences.

3. The petitioner and the defacto complainant have since arrived at a compromise and had filed a joint compromise memo, by which the second respondent / defacto complainant has agreed to withdraw the complaint and agreed for quashing of the complaint on the basis of the compromise. The Joint Compromise Memo is extracted below: 2/6

4. The said compromise memo is taken on record. The second respondent is present in person, who is identified by Mr.K.William, SS.I, Puthukadai Police Station. She confirms the compromise entered into between her and the petitioner.

5. In view of the same, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the investigation pending. Accordingly the impugned F.I.R. in Crime No.223 of 2025 is hereby quashed, in terms of the joint compromise memo.

6. This Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
