PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to re-convey the land in Survey Nos.28/3 of Thoppur Village of Madurai South Taluk, Madurai District with a total extent of 0.39.0 Hectares acquired by the respondent, belonging to the petitioner as per notification issued in Gazette dated 20.12.1991 and 19.10.1985, which has been made in the form of representation by the petitioner, dated 18.08.2011 and 12.11.2012 and for consequential orders.

This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus, directing the respondents to reconvey the land in Survey Nos.28/3 of Thoppur Village of Madurai South Taluk, Madurai District to an extent of 0.39.0 Hectares, that the lands acquired in the year 1992 have not been utilized by the Department, for which it has been acquired. 2/5
2.Today(27.02.2023), when this writ petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the Tamil Nadu Housing Board submits that the lands are now utilized for the purpose of Satellite City, which has been announced by the Honourable then Chief Minister and the petitioner has also received the compensation amount for the lands acquired from him. 3.In view of the subsequent development and recording the submission made by the learned Standing Counsel, nothing survives in this writ petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs.
