The petitioner appears to have lodged a complaint as against the President, Saruguvalaiyapatti Village Panchayat that he is indulging in misappropriation of funds and filed this writ petition for a Mandamus to direct the first respondent to take necessary action under Section 205 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayat Act.

2.Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 submits that the first respondent/the District Collector cum Inspector of Panchayat has considered the petitioner's application and a notice has been issued to the President of Saruguvalaiyapatti Village.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that based on the representation of the District Collector, the Assistant Director of Panchayat has submitted a detailed report as against the President of 3/6

Saruguvalaiyapatti Panchayat and thereafter, notice was issued. However, there was no further progress in the enquiry. 4.Considering the rival submissions made and considering the fact that the District Collector has already initiated action as against the President of Saruguvalaiyapatti Village by issuing a notice, based on the report of the Assistant Director of Panchayat, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to proceed with the enquiry in accordance with law and take a decision as expeditiously as possible. No costs.
