Prayer : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, to call for the records relating to FIR in Crime No.140 of 2024 dated 16.03.2024 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Koodal Pudur Police Station, Madurai City and quash the same as illegal and thus render justice.

The petitioner/accused in Crime No.140 of 2024 , on the file of the first respondent police has moved this petition to quash the above proceedings pending as against him.

2.Mr.P.Kottaichamy, learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), who takes notice for the first respondent submits that the investigation in Crime No. 140 of 2024 has already been completed and final report has also been filed before the Judicial Magistrate Court No.IV, Madurai, through e-filing No.LTN20230000034C202500649, on 27.08.2025.

3.Recording the aforesaid submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) that the final report has been filed, this court is not inclined to proceed with the first information report alone. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the final report in the manner known to law. Mere filing of the final report is not sufficient and it is the responsibility 2/4

of the respondent police to ensure that the final report is filed in order and it is taken on file by the concerned Court within a period of two weeks. It is also the responsibility of the concerned Courts to take the final report on file, without delay. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
