O R D E R

This Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 16.06.2019, seeking enhancement of compensation fixed by the competent authority in respect of the land of the petitioner acquired under the National Highways Act, 1956.

2. Heard the arguments of learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

3. It is not in dispute that 3520 sq.mts of land in S.No.39/2A1, situate in Ilavankulam Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, was acquired under the National Highways Act, 1956. The first respondent fixed the compensation amount payable to the petitioner at Rs. 17,50,306/-. Not satisfied with the quantum of compensation, the petitioner filed an application before the first respondent on 16.06.2019, seeking enhancement of the quantum of compensation. The said representation has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader who appear for the respondent would submit that the representation submitted by the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 16.06.2019 in the light of Section 3-G(5) of the National Highways Act, 1956 and pass final orders on its own merits, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
