PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to consider petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2023 and pass orders to instruct the 3rd respondent to remove the discriminating words in the Marriage Register maintained by the 3rd respondent within a period stipulated by this Court. ORDER

The writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2023 with a positive direction to the third respondent to remove the discriminating words in the marriage register maintained by the third respondent.

2. It is an admitted fact that the petitioner had made a representation to the first respondent and the same is pending consideration. Hence, without entering upon the merits of the matter, this Court directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2023 and pass appropriate orders 2/4

within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that the first respondent shall afford an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and the third respondent before any order is passed.
