PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records pertaining to the impugned order, dated 10.09.2023 passed by the third respondent and quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the second respondent to accord permission to the petitioner to conduct and celebrate Vinayagar Chathurthi Function at Gandhi Nagar, Usilampatti, Madurai District, scheduled to be held on 17.09.2023 and 18.09.2023.

permission for the petitioners to install vinayagar idol, by setting aside the orders passed by the respondent Police.

2. During the course of submissions, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that both the factions in the Village have settled their issues amicably and decided to perform the Vinayagar Chathurthi festival from 17.09.2023 and 18.09.2023 by installing single idol at one place.

3. In view of the settlement arrived at between the parties, both the petitioners in W.P.(MD).Nos.22385 and 22523 of 2023 are directed to approach the respondent Police and file a fresh application, on which, the respondent Police are directed to give permission by imposing suitable conditions.
