The petitioner appears to have submitted a representation on 08.05.2024 seeking cancellation of the tender.

2. The learned Government Advocate for the respondents 2 to 4 submits that the third respondent, in his proceedings dated 23.07.2025, bearing Reference Na.Ka.No.5083/2023/Aa2, has stated that the pond in question is not suitable for timber production or fish/algae lease. Accordingly, the auction that had been ordered was cancelled in accordance with the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994, and as per G.O.No.169, Rural Development Department, dated 16.08.1999.

3. The learned Government Advocate further submits that the pond is currently dry and, as such, there is no proposal at present to auction the fishing rights in the said pond.

4. Recording the above submissions, this Writ Petition stands closed. No costs.
