O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to correct the place of birth of the petitioner in the passport issued to the petitioner on 24.11.2011.

2. Heard Mr.M.Suresh, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Saravanan, learned Central Government Standing counsel for the respondent.

3. It is seen from records that the place of birth of the petitioner as found in the birth certificate is differing from the place of birth noted in the passport issued to the petitioner. The petitioner, therefore wants the correction to be carried out in the passport issued to him on 24.11.2011.

4. In view of the above, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh application to the respondent and the respondent on receipt of the same, shall verify the records and carry out the necessary change in the place of birth within a period of four(04) weeks from the date of receipt of the application from https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

5. With this direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
