This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a mandamus to the respondent Police to grant permission and adequate police protection for conducting public meeting near 80 feet road, Karur District, which is to be held on 15.09.2023 at 06.00 P.M., basing on the petitioner's representations, dated 05.09.2023 and 12.09.2023.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing today, learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) has reported before this Court that the respondent Police have no objection to grant permission for the petitioner / political party to convene a public meeting at Uzhavar Santhai on 26.09.2023 at 06.00 P.M.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner has also agreed for the same and requested the Court to direct the respondent Police to permit the petitioner to conduct the public meeting as sought for on 26.09.2023 at Uzhavar Santhai.

4. Considering the submissions made by both sides, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the respondent Police to grant permission and provide police protection as sought for by the petitioner to convene a public 2/4

meeting on 26.09.2023 at Uzhavar Santhai at 06.00 P.M., by imposing usual conditions. No costs.
