ORDER
The petitioner seeks a direction to the respondent to release a sum of Rs.6,20,152/- (Rupees Six Lakhs Twenty Thousand One Hundred and FiftyTwo only) due to him, along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. Mr.M.Lingadurai, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
3. The petitioner is a Class II Contractor in the Public Works Department and has been engaged in various types of contract works for the past four years. The respondent invited tenders for the construction of a compound wall at the weekly shandy in S.No.1166/1D, 1E at Alangudi, pursuant to which a work order was issued in favour of the petitioner. The petitioner completed the work within the stipulated period of one month. However, the respondent has not disbursed the entire amount due. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation on 04.08.2025. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioner has approached this Court.

4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submits that the petitioner's representation will be considered in accordance with law.

In view of the above, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the respondent is directed to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.08.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after affording a reasonable opportunity to the petitioner.
