Respondents in both W.Ps Common Prayer: Writ Petitions filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to count the past services of the petitioners in the post of Lecturer at District Institute of Education and Training, Aduthurai, Thanjavur District (District Unit of State Council of Educational Research and Training) with effect from the year 2002 and consequentially, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion to the post of Associate Professor (Education)(Tamil Education), within a time frame fixed by this Court.

W.P.(MD)Nos.5269 and 5270 of 2016 3.In view of the above, these writ petitions are closed. No costs. However, the petitioners are at liberty to make their representations for counting their past services in the post of Lecturers within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If such representations are received, the respondents shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
