ORDER
This writ petition is filed for a Mandamus, directing the third respondent to issue patta in respect of the petitioner's property comprised in Survey No.36/33 admeasuring an extent of 6 cents situated at Memissel Sathirapattinam Village, Avadiyarkovil Taluk, Pudukkottai District, by considering his representation dated 08.12.2015.
2. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 20.06.2023, there was no representation for the petitioner. Therefore, the matter was directed to be listed today under the caption "For Dismissal". Even today, there is no representation for the petitioner. 2/6

A perusal of records would reveal that the petitioner's patta was originally cancelled by the 2nd respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aranthangi, by his proceedings dated 06.05.2003, which was challenged before the 1st respondent/the District Revenue Officer, Pudukkottai. The 1st respondent/the District Revenue Officer, Pudukkottai, by his proceedings dated 25.07.2005, set aside the proceedings dated 06.05.2003 and remitted the matter back to the 2nd respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aranthangi for fresh consideration. The 2nd respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer, Aranthangi, by his proceedings dated 12.10.2007, directed the 3rd respondent/the Tahsildar, Avadiyarkovil Taluk, to conduct a fresh enquiry and take a decision on merits. Pursuant to the same, the petitioner has submitted his representation dated 08.12.2015 to the respondent. Since there was no action, the petitioner is before this Court.

In view of the proceedings of the 1st and 2nd respondents, this Court directs the 3rd respondent, namely, the Tahsildar, Avadiarkovil Taluk, Pudukottai District, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.12.2015, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as to other claimants, if any and pass orders on merits in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
