ORDER

The Writ Petition is filed seeking for issuance of a writ of MANDAMUS directing the first respondent to consider and appoint the petitioner to the post of Agricultural Field Officer in any nationalized Bank with all attendant service benefits especially after taking note of the petitioners educational qualification.

2. The case of the petitioner is that she studied B.Tech in Biotechnology, a branch of Agriculture. The said course is a four year course in Agriculture conducted by the Agricultural College 1/3

and Research Institute in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. The petitioner joined the course in the year 2008 and completed in the year 2012 and has obtained 78.40% marks. The first respondent Bank selects specialist officers, including Agricultural Field Officers to the various Banks and the selection process is fully online from the stage of notification up to the level of making offer of appointment in the Bank. The first respondent issued online notification dated 16.11.2015 for conducting selection to the post of Agricultural field officer. The qualification for the said post is a graduation in agriculture having a four year course. Thereafter the petitioner applied for the same through online and thereafter, the petitioner called for written test and it was held on 21.02.2016.

The petitioner had the Degree with the nomenclature of B.Tech (Biotechnology), by way of abundant caution, she obtained a certificate from the third respondent University to the effect that the course offered by them and studied by the petitioner is an agricultural degree and equivalent to B.Tech Agri-Biotechnology. However, the second respondent Bank had not permitted the petitioner to participate in the interview, however, three students having the same degree like that of the petitioner, were permitted to participate in the interview. Challenging the said illegality, the present writ petition has been filed by the petitioner.

3. Learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that earlier the petitioner also participated in the similar type of notification for the above said post and for the very same reason in the earlier occasion, she was rejected and against that, she filed a writ petition before the Principal Seat of this Court at Madras in W.P.No.20455 of 2015 for treating the petitioner's degree is equivalent to B.Tech., Agri-biotechnology degree and hence, this Court may close the writ petition and permit the petitioner to canvass all those points before the Principal Seat of this Court at Madras seeking for the aforesaid relief.

4. In view of the submission made by the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Writ Petition is closed with liberty as sought for by the petitioner. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed. Sd/- Assistant Registrar(AE) // True Copy // / /2021 Sub Assistant Registrar(CS) SSL 2/3
