PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating with the order of the second respondent made in letter No.K.Elam/A1/2015, dated Nil.01.2016, signed on 19.01.2016, granting fishing right to the fifth respondent in Vedakulam Kanmoi and Periakulam Kanmoi in Old Batlagundu, in Dindigul District, for the period of 23.12.2015 to 31.08.2016 and quash the same as it is arbitrary, illegal and against the Rule 11 and 20 of the Tamilnadu Transparency in Tender Rules and in consequence to direct the second respondent to accept the petitioner's offer of Rs.2 lakhs, vide his representation dated 08.01.2016 or to conduct the fresh auction by following the due procedure in Tamilnadu Transparency in Tender Rules.

On instructions, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the writ petition has been rendered infructuous by subsequent events, i.e. the

expiry of the term of the impugned licence for fishing rights. By taking note of the above submissions, W.P.(MD).No.6941 of 2016 is dismissed as infructuous without any order as to costs. Consequently, connected W.M.P. (MD).No.5936 of 2016 is closed.
