PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the learned Principal EC & NDPs Court, Madurai to Expedite The Trial and dispose the case in C.C. No.53/22 on its file within the Time Frame as Fixed by this Court.

O RDER This criminal original petition has been filed seeking direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Special Court for EC & NDPS Act Cases,, Madurai to Expedite The Trial and dispose the case in C.C. No.53 of 2022 on its file within the Time Frame as Fixed by this Court. 2.The petitioner is facing trial before the trial Court in C.C.No. 53 of 2022 for the offence punishable under Section 8(c) r/w 20(b) (ii)(C), 25 and 29(1) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1985, in Crime No.31 of 2022 on the file of the respondent police. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that though the final report has been filed before the trial Court on 03.02.2023 and the same was taken cognizance on 17.02.2023, till today there is no progress. Therefore, he seeks speedy disposal of the case. 3.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that the respondent police is ready to co-operate to complete the trial process within the time stipulated by this Court. The third accused in this case is still absconding. Now warrant has been issued against him. Therefore, it could not be completed.

4.In view of the submissions on either side, there shall be a direction to the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, Special Court for EC & NDPS Act Cases,, Madurai, to split up the case against the accused persons, those who are regularly appearing and expedite the trial process and dispose of the same within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.With the above said directions, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
