Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 3 and 5 to unlock the Aadhanur, Karupamanai Church by implementing orders of the second respondent Pa.Ve/03/2021/A3, dated 21.12.2021 by enabling the people for the congregation of the Christmas and New Year and to provide adequate police protection. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the official respondents.

2.Since the private respondents could not be served, I decline to pass any positive direction in favour of the petitioner. However, in my view, a holy Church should not remain closed on Christmas Day. Due to certain disputes that arose between the parties, the petition mentioned church is now under lock and seal. The third respondent is requested to convene a meeting of both the parties in the presence of the petitioner herein tomorrow at 11.00 a.m and endeavour to resolve the issue. I request the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pattukottai to endeavour to resolve the issue. It is made clear that the purpose of the meeting is only to enable Christmas to be celebrated on 25/12/2021 in the petition-mentioned Church.

3.The writ petition stands disposed of. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
