ORDER
This writ petition is filed for a mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to complete the enquiry and pass final orders on the petitioner's representation dated 25.02.2016 under Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act 1983 within a stipulated time.
2. The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner and his brother have purchased a land in Survey No. 107/1 at Vaadiyur Village, Veerakeralampudur Taluk, Tirunelveli District, by way of a registered sale deed dated 27.04.1964. But, patta stands in the name of the third respondent. Therefore, he made a representation dated 25.02.2016 to 2/5
the second respondent requesting him to delete the name of the third respondent and issue a fresh patta in their names. Since the said representation has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submits that the revenue records stand in two different names and therefore, a detailed enquiry has to be conducted.
4. It is not known, why the petitioner's representation dated 25.02.2016 is kept pending for the past six years.
5. Therefore, the second respondent is directed to conduct a detailed enquiry, by affording an opportunity to the parties concerned and pass orders, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
