O R D E R

The petitioner came under the adverse notice of Peravurani police on account of his implication in a few criminal cases. Hence, history sheet was opened against him in the year 2015. The petitioner has sought closure of the said history sheet. The writ petition was filed way back in the year 2016.

2. When the matter was taken up for final disposal today, it is seen that there are materials on record that those earlier cases registered against the petitioner had been closed. It was observed by the Inspector of Police that there is no complaint against the petitioner for the last two years. Yet the jurisdictional Deputy Superintendent of Police has chosen to order retention of the petitioner's name in the history sheet. W.P.(MD)No.7986 of 2016 and order. In as much as the petitioner has not come under the adverse notice of Peravurani police for the last two years, I am of the view that the history sheet made against the petitioner deserves to be closed. It is accordingly, closed.
