PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission for conducting the Flood Light Kabadi Tournament. In this regard, we have decided to arrange kabadi matches to be held on 23.09.2023 to 26.09.2023 at Thuvakudi, Trichy District, based on the petitioner's representation, dated 09.09.2023 submitted before the respondents.

This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondents herein to grant permission to conduct the Flood Light Kabadi Tournament to be held on 23.09.2023 to 26.09.2023 at Thuvakudi, Trichy District, by considering the representation given by the petitioner, dated 09.09.2023.

2. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner has made a representation to the respondent Police on 09.09.2023 seeking permission and for providing protection for conducting kabaddi competition and the same is still pending for consideration. Since tournament is scheduled from 23.09.2023 to 26.09.2023, the petitioner sought for suitable directions to the respondent Police. It is submitted by learned counsel for the petitioner that more than thirty teams are likely to participate in the competition.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that they are prepared to provide the necessary protection, provided, the organizers following the conditions issued by the police.

4. Considering the submissions made by learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side), this Writ Petition 2/4

is disposed of, directing the petitioner to approach the respondent Police afresh and file application by giving all the details in respect of the hygiene, play grounds, accommodation to the players, toilets, medical facilities like ambulance, food, refreshment etc and on being satisfied only, the respondent Police are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders by keeping in view of the law and order situation prevailing in that area.
