ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/Accused No.3, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 10.03.2023 for the offences punishable under 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(C) & 29(1) and 25 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, in Crime No.329 of 2023 on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail. 1/3

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner and the co-accused were found in possession of 23 kgs of ganja. Hence, the case. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner/A3 would submit that the petitioner is in jail for the past 556 days. The petitioner claims that since he is languishing in jail for the past 556 days, this Court dismissed the application with the direction to the trial Court to conclude the trial as expeditiously as possible. 4.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) submits that in the application filed by the co-accused in Crl.O.P(MD)No.16442 of 2024, this Court has already issued a direction to complete the trial as expeditiously as possible preferably within a period of two months.

5.Considering the fact that there was already a direction to complete the trial within a period of two months, this Court dismissed the petition with a direction to the trial Court to comply the order of this Court in Crl.O.P(MD)No.16442 of 2024, by concluding the trial as directed.
