ORDER

The petitioner herein is the history sheeter on the file of the first respondent police has filed this writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents not to harass him.

2.The specific case of the petitioner is that since he was cited as a witness, in a complaint against the police officials, the respondents have started targeting him, foisting case against him and frequently visit his house at odd hours and harassed him. 3.However, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State would submit that earlier 17 cases were against this petitioner and since 2002 the petitioner has been noted as history https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P.(MD)No.8738 of 2016 sheeter and kept under surveillance till now. The latest case was taken on file in S.C.No.321 of 2016, on the file of the Assistant Sessions Judge, Padmanabhapuram, for the alleged offences under Sections 147, 148, 295, 435, 506(ii) of IPC and Section 3(1) of TNPPDL Act, against the petitioner and the said case is still pending.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that after filing this writ petition in the year 2016, the respondent police are restrained from harassing him. 5.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State would submit that they have never harassed the petitioner and they will never harass him.
