PRAYER:- Writ Petition - filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to appoint the petitioner as Panchayat Secretary in Valakurichi Panchayat, Ponnamaravathy Panchayat Union, Pudukkottai District, on the basis of the interview held on 07.08.2018 as per employment seniority and other qualifications. The petitioner seeks a mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to appoint her as Panchayat Secretary in Valakurichi Panchayat, Pudukottai District, on the basis of the interview held on 07.08.2018.
2.This writ petition is liable to be dismissed on several grounds. Mandamus of the nature as sought for is not liable to be granted, as appointment of a candidate to a specified post is based on several parameters. It is for the appointing authority to look into such parameters and appoint the fittest and most suitable candidate.

W.P.(MD)No.19924 of 2018 3.That apart, Mr.K.S.Selvaganesan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents states that the notification calling for applications that was issued in April 2018 was itself stayed by an order of this Court in W.P.(MD)No.3621 of 2019, dated 15.02.2019.
4.Thus, this Writ Petition is dismissed. As and when orders are passed in W.P.(MD)No.3621 of 2019 dated 15.02.2019, the process of appointment will take place, in accordance with law and as directed by this Court in the aforesaid writ petition. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
