: Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus calling for the records relating to the impugned order issued by the first respondent, dated 31.08.2018 in R.C.No.212059/GB-2(2)/2019 and to quash the same and consequently to direct the respondents to include the Petitioner's name in the panel list for the year 2015-16 for the promotional post of Deputy Superintendent of Police. ************* The learned counsel for the petitioner made a submission that during the pendency of the writ petition, the petitioner was promoted to the post of Deputy Superintendent of Police. Therefore, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)NO.23666 of 2019 his grievances are redressed. However, the petitioner is entitled for retrospective promotion.

2.The learned Additional Government Pleader objected the said contention by stating that with reference to the retrospective promotion, the petitioner was facing currency of punishment during the relevant point of time.

3.Under these circumstances, this Court is not incline to adjudicate the merits, as the petitioner had already been promoted as Deputy Superintendent of Police. If at all any grievance exist to the petitioner, it is left open to him to approach the competent authority for his redressal in the manner known to law. 4.With these observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
