PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's Appeal dated 15.07.2024, pertaining to cancellation of the patta standing in the 1/6

name of the third respondent in respect of her landed property of an extent of 10 cents in Survey No.1028, Vadugampadi Village, Gujiliyamparai Taluk, Dindigul District as expeditiously as possible and within the time stipulated by this Court. The petitioner, with a grievance that the appeal preferred by her before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani Taluk, Dindigul District on 15.07.2024, for cancellation of patta, which stands in the name of the third respondent herein in respect of her property in S.No.1028, Vadugampadi Village, Gujiliyamparai Taluk, Dindigul District has not been decided so far, has approached this Court, seeking a Mandamus, to direct the first respondent/the Revenue Divisional Officer to dispose of the appeal within a reasonable time. 2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is 76 years old and therefore, a suitable 2/6

direction may be issued to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner in an expeditious manner.

3.Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 & 2 submits that the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani Taluk, Dindigul only on 15.07.2024 and filed this writ petition for a Mandamus to issue a direction to the Revenue Divisional Officer. He further submits that the appeal would be disposed of within a reasonable time, as directed by this Court. 4.It appears that the petitioner has preferred an appeal before the Revenue Divisional Officer, Palani only on 15.07.2024. Therefore, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition. However, considering the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that this petitioner is a senior citizen, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the 3/6

appeal preferred by the petitioner and dispose of the same as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. 14.10.2024 NCC :Yes/No Index :Yes Internet :Yes vrn 4/6
