ORDER : The Court made the following order :- Apprehending arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) and 4(1-A) of Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act in Crime No.975 of 2021 on the file of the respondent police, the petitioner has come forward with this petition seeking anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 02.12.2021, at about 04.10 am, when the defacto complainant along with the Police party were on usual patrol, they found the accused persons with illegal possession of brandy bottles. Hence, the complaint.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and he is falsely implicated in this case.

4. Heard the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent Police.

5. The petitioner and the co-accused were found to be in possession of 8 vorion brandy bottles and 27 express brandy bottles of 180 ml. Considering the nature of offence and the quantity of contraband involved, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed.
