ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to regularize the services of the petitioner in the post of Junior Research Scientist, Centre for Remote Sensing, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as Junior Research Fellow in the year 1998 on temporary basis. After completing his Ph.D., he was posted as Project Scientist in the scale of Lecturer pay in a time bound project up to 29.04.2009. Thereafter, he joined the post of Junior Research Scientist in the Centre for Remote Sensing on 30.04.2009 and his service was extended for a further period of two years and every year, his service was extended and finally, it was extended up to 30.04.2015. W.P.(MD)No.9540 of 2016 no extension was given. Therefore, he submitted letters to the respondents on 31.08.2015, 29.12.2015 and 11.01.2016 to extend his service from 01.05.2015, which did not evoke any response. Again, he submitted representations dated 17.03.2016 and 04.04.2016 to the respondents, seeking regularization of his services in the post of Junior Research Scientist based on the services rendered by him in the University. However, till date, no order was passed. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice for the petitioner if the respondents are directed to dispose of the representations dated 17.03.2016 and 04.04.2016 given by him.
4. In view of the limited prayer now sought, the respondents are directed to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 17.03.2016 and 04.04.2016 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
