This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent to dispose the petitioner's Appeal dated 08.01.2022, within the stipulated time.

The case of the petitioner is that he has filed an appeal before the first respondent, dated 08.01.2022, through registered post, requesting him to cancel the settlement deed vide Document No. 1371/2021, dated 21.06.2021, which was executed by his son Kanagatheven in favour of his wife viz., K.Dhanalakshmi before the third respondent and the same was numbered as File No.268/Aa4/2022. Even after receipt of the petitioner's appeal, there is no action taken by the first respondent to cancel the forged settlement deed till today. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Considering the above said facts, this Court, without going into the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to dispose of the petitioner's appeal dated 08.01.2022, on merits and in accordance with law, after providing necessary opportunities, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
