PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd Respondent to remove the petitioner's name from the History Sheet (H.S.No.575/2012) in view of representation dated 05.09.2023 within the stipulated time. O RDER This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondent police to remove the name of the petitioner from the history sheet in H.S.No.575/2012. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner was involved in a criminal case in Crime No.345 of 2011, which was registered for the offences punishable under Section 302 IPC, thereby his name is listed in H.S.No.575 of 2012. According to the petitioner, the case was tried against him and it was ended in acquittal and subsequent to 2012, there is no case registered against the petitioner. However, his name is being continued in the History Sheet, thereby lot of inconvenience is being caused and therefore, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondent police dated 05.09.2023. However, no action has been taken so far.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that since there is no case against the petitioner, the police will consider the representation of the petitioner as per the circular issued by the Director General of Police in RC.No. 2/4

1384913-2/Crime 4(3)/2021 dated 20.09.2021 in respect of maintenance and deletion of names from the History Sheet in HS.No.575/2012. 4.By recording the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side), this Petition is disposed of.
