ORDER
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
2.The petitioner is alleged to have committed theft of electricity. Therefore, he was visited with penalty. Since the petitioner did not pay the assessed amount, his service connection was also disconnected. The petitioner seeks restoration of his service connection.
3.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents submitted that since the petitioner had subsequently remitted the amount in question, his service connection has already been restored. W.P.(MD)No.20418 of 2018 3.However, the petitioner also seeks conversion of his service connection as a free agricultural electric service connection. In this regard, the petitioner has given a representation dated 29.08.2018. The petitioner's counsel also states that he had also formally registered his application also. Therefore, the respondents are directed to consider the petitioner's application on merits and as per law as expeditiously as possible.
4.With this direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
