ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned standing counsel for TNPSC.

2.The petitioner is a candidate for the post of Block Health Statistician. He took part in the petition mentioned recruitment process. According to him, the eligibility qualification prescribed for the said post is degree in Statistics or Mathematics or Economics from any university. The petitioner claims that he studied upto 12th standard only in Tamil medium. He also claims to have done his under-graduation (B.Sc. Mathematics) in Tamil Medium. However, he did his postgraduation in English medium. According to the petitioner, inasmuch as he acquired the prescribed qualification only in Tamil medium, he is eligible to be considered under PSTM category. But his grievance is that he could not upload the PSTM certificate as there is no provision in the portal. He has, therefore, submitted a representation seeking consideration under PSTM category. The certificate verification is also over. The petitioner not only wrote 2/4

the examination but also took part in the certificate verification. He only wants to be considered under PSTM category.

3.The respondents are directed to pass order on the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law. This shall be done before finalizing the selection list, if not already finalized. I make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the matter.

4.The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
