ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner/Accused, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 08.08.2025 for the offence punishable under Sections 7A altered into 7(a) and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 as Amended by (Amendment) Act, 2018, in Crime No.6 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, has filed this petition seeking bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner had demanded a sum of Rs.1,000/- as bribe for shifting and Tariff change of the EB service connection. Hence, 1/3

the complaint.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution.However, he is languishing in jail from 08.08.2025.He further submits that the petitioner has no role in the alleged trap, however he was roped as an accused. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he seeks bail. 4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) submitted that the petitioner had demanded a sum of Rs.1,000/- as bribe from the defacto complainant. He further submitted that the investigation is at initial stage. Hence, he opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the ase and also the nature of offence, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
