For Petitioner : Mr.B.Arun For R1 to R3 : Mr.SS.Madhavan Government Advocate (Crl.side) O RDER This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission to the petitioner for conducting Kabadi Tournament scheduled to be held on 23.09.2023 to 25.09.2023 on the day for men at about 07.00 p.m., to 11.00 p.m., and for women 08.00 a.m., to 04.00 p.m., and given permission and police protection in the name of the Anaithalaiyur Anai Kabadi Club situated at Anaithalaiyur Village, Gangaikondan, Tiruenveli District within the time stipulated by this Court.
2.When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that on account of the Vinayagar Chathurthi festival season and immersion, the police cannot provide any security for the proposed tournament from 23.09.2023 to 25.09.2023 and reported that in case if alternative dates are chosen, the police will consider the same. 2/5
3.This Court is in agreement with the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.side). Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the petitioner to approach the respondent police and file a fresh application by mentioning fresh schedule of the tournament giving all the details in respect of hygiene, play grounds, accommodation to the players, toilets, medical facilities like ambulance, food, refreshment etc and on being satisfied only, the respondent police are directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders, if the situation is congenial to grant the permission to conduct the Kabadi tournament by imposing the usual conditions. No costs.
