ORDER

The petitioner, who was arrested on 29.07.2025, in connection with the case in Crime No.7 of 2025 on the file of the respondent Police, registered for the offence u/s.7(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, has moved this application seeking bail. 1/3

2.The prosecution case is that the petitioner, working as a Bill Collector in Kovilpatti Municipality Office, demanded a bribe of Rs.10,000/-. Accordingly, a trap was laid and the petitioner was arrested on the spot along with the tainted money. 3.Learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent and has nothing to do with the alleged offence. 4.Learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the investigation is still pending. 5.Considering the nature of offence, the fact that the petitioner was arrested along with the tainted money and also considering that the investigation is still pending, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.
