ORDER

The writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents to rectify the mistake with regard to the extent in the revenue records pertains to the property situated in Natham Survey No.242/9, Kanakki Revenue Village, Aruppukkottai Taluk, Virudhunagar District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.07.2025. 2.Heard the arguments of Mr.K.Arunraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mrs.K.Malathi, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 4. By consent of

both sides, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.According to the petitioner, he purchased 1305 sq .ft of land in Survey No.242/9 under a registered sale deed dated 21.08.1965 from one Velliyappathevar. On verification, the petitioner came to know that the extent of the property was wrongly mentioned in the revenue records. Therefore, he submitted a representation on 22.07.2025, seeking rectification of error in the revenue records with regard to the extent of the property. The same has not been considered. Hence, the petitioner has come before this Court.

4.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the competent authority to consider the representation of the petitioner is the Assistant Director of Land Survey under the control of the second respondent.

5.In view of the same, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, the second respondent is directed to consider the

representation of the petitioner dated 22.07.2025 and pass final orders on its own merits within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
