By consent of both sides, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

The writ petition has been filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.08.2024 and to pay the amount Rs.3,68,000/- (Rupees Three Lakhs Sixty Eight Thousand only) for the contract work for providing drainage from Vettikonam road to downwards with covering slab in Ward No.7 of 2nd respondents Municipality in the year 2016 and to pay the amount Rs.1,50,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Fifty Thousand only) for the contract work for the maintenance work in Pettai Chanthai and Fish market in the 2nd respondent Municipality in the year 2018. 2/5

3. The petitioner is the licensee as Grade I Contractor in the 2nd respondent municipality. For the work of providing drainage from Vettikonam road to downwards, the petitioner has not been disbursed the contract amount and for the maintenance work in Pettai Chanthai and Fish market in the 2nd respondent also, the petitioner has not been paid. Therefore, the petitioner has sent a representation. Since the same has not been considered so far, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. I have considered the rival submissions and perused the materials available on record.

5. Considering the limited prayer that has been sought for, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondents to dispose the representation of the petitioner dated 24.08.2024 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs. 15.10.2024 RR 3/5
